Neal’s Cafe

Neal’s Cafe

After driving all over Springdale’s main thoroughfare this is the first original restaurant that we came across in Springdale, AR. The building housing the restaurant isn’t much to look at as it was the original building.

Their website is http://www.nealscafe.com/

Neal’s Cafe started way back in 1944.

We started out the experience at Neal’s Cafe with water and iced tea. The waitress asked us if we wanted sweetened or unsweetened tea; I chose sweetened and my friend chose unsweetened tea. Our dinner rolls came first and they were very good.

Beef Liver and Onions

I had the Beef Liver and Onions. This was only $10.99 for an 8 oz portion and it came with three sides. I chose fried pickles, fried squash, and grilled broccoli. The large size of the meal’s portions was quite satisfying.

The liver and onions was great and if you like liver and onions, you couldn’t go wrong with ordering it at Neal’s. I would give it a 5 on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best. A great choice in my opinion.

The sides were great. The fried pickles were excellent, the best ever, and I gave them a 5 on a scale of 1 to 5. The broccoli, more like steamed broccoli than grilled brocolli, only received a 4, and the squash gets a 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 5. I like zucchini, however, I was expecting a different type of squash.

Pork Chop Dinner

According to my friend the Pork Chop Dinner was delicious, and cooked to perfection. Each pork chop was 4 oz which may not be enough if you are one to eat a lot of food. My friend gave them a decent 4.2 on a scale from 1 to 5 with 5 being the best.

The salad was nice and fresh. My friend stated that he was confused as to why there are not many places around that come with a Caesar salad dressing option. Caesar dressing not being available caused him to decide to get the vinegar and oil which he would rate a 4.

The service at the restaurant was excellent as it could be considering Neal’s was completely filled up for Sunday Lunch. The food arrived quickly to the table despite the fact that there were several customers at the cafe. The experience at Neal’s Cafe was quite satisfying based on the food, the service, and the atmosphere.

The cafe is still in its original 1944 location which contests to the popularity of the establishment.
